Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Saboteur: The Protocol (the "Game", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you download, install, and play the Game on your Android or iOS device.
By using the Game you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the Game.
1. Who We Are
Saboteur: The Protocol is a single-player hacking puzzle game. The developer can be reached at:

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information the Game stores on your device
The Game does not require you to create an account and does not ask for personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Game progress — levels completed, puzzles solved, and in-game state.
- App settings — preferences such as audio volume.
This data is stored using AsyncStorage and remains on your device until you uninstall the Game or clear its data from your device settings.
2.2 Information collected by third-party services
The Game uses the third-party services listed below. Each service operates under its own privacy policy and may collect data independently. We do not control, and are not responsible for, how these services handle your data.
3. Third-Party Services
3.1 Google AdMob (Advertising)
The Game displays ads provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC). AdMob may collect and use the following information to serve and measure ads:
- Advertising identifiers — Android Advertising ID (AAID) or iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
- Device information — device model, operating system version, and screen size.
- IP address — used to derive approximate location (country/region) and to detect fraud.
- Usage data — ad impressions, clicks, and interaction events.
By default, AdMob may use this data to show personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
- Android: Go to Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
- iOS: Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising and disable "Personalized Ads".
For full details, see Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses data when you use our partners' apps or sites.

3.2 Google Play (App Distribution)
When you download the Game from the Google Play Store, Google collects information independently from us, including your Google account information, device identifiers, crash logs, and purchase history (if applicable). This is governed by the Google Play Privacy Policy.
3.3 In-App Review (expo-store-review)
The Game may prompt you to leave a review using the native in-app review flow provided by the Google Play In-App Review API. No personal data is collected or processed by us during this flow. Any data involved is handled exclusively by Google.
4. Permissions
The Game requests the following Android permission:
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Used to display optional local notifications (e.g., game reminders). No notification data is sent to external servers.
5. How We Use Information
The information described above is used exclusively for:
- Serving and measuring ads — via Google AdMob, to support the free availability of the Game.
- Improving the Game — through aggregate, anonymized usage signals.
- Providing in-app review prompts — to allow you to rate the Game without leaving it.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for any purpose beyond those listed above.
6. Data Retention
- On-device data (game progress, settings) is retained on your device until you uninstall the Game or clear its app data.
- Data collected by third-party services is retained according to those services' own policies. We do not directly control their retention periods.
7. Children's Privacy
The Game is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum digital age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has been exposed to advertising data collection through the Game, please contact us at the address below and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your country of residence, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict its processing. Because most data in the Game is processed by third-party services (primarily Google), you should exercise these rights directly through those services or through your device settings.
For data stored locally on your device (game progress, settings), you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the Game or clearing its data via your device's app settings.
To submit a privacy request, contact us at the email address in Section 1.
9. Data Security
We take reasonable precautions to help protect any information associated with the Game. However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Data Transfers
Third-party services used by the Game, including Google AdMob, may process data in countries outside your country of residence. Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses and other safeguards where required by applicable law.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to the Game, our practices, or applicable law. We will post the updated policy with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Game after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
